About the organization

Missions Agency / Non-Profit

Isaiah House was founded in 1999 by a recovering addict and his wife who gave their lives to Christ and then had an overwhelming conviction to help people who were homeless. Mark and Tammy LaPalme set out to take men into their own residence, fed them, clothed them, got them medical attention, took them to church, and opened the world of God’s Word to them. They were criticized by the community and even taken to court over local ordinances. Yet, they prevailed because they believed God had him on a mission. They had faith.

They soon discovered that addiction is one of the most prevalent reasons for homelessness, leading the ministry to develop services for struggling addicts and their families.  Today, Isaiah House is nationally accredited and state-certified as an inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment provider. So far in 2021, we served over 2,029 men and women at treatment facilities in six Kentucky counties and have seen 199 Baptisms & Salvations!

Isaiah House exists to help men and women with life-controlling issues by providing a healthy and structured environment, addressing spiritual, physical, emotional, financial, and legal issues. We provide a place of recovery, transformation, and healing by instilling tools to break destructive patterns and habits, restoring broken relationships, and living a disciplined abundant life. Developed by recovering addicts and professional clinicians, our holistic approach to treatment goes beyond helping people get off the drugs that are destroying their lives. The goal is to provide the tools recovering addicts need to maintain sobriety for a lifetime.
