Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) exists to educate osteopathic physicians in a Christian environment. Our goal is to provide students with intercultural academic and clinical experiences to ignite and nurture their interest in international and underserved medicine. During their fourth-year of medical school, students can complete an international elective rotation and many are made possible through a partnership with World Medical Mission/Samaritan’s Purse. Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) brings you four years of holistic, integrated curricular learning with progressively expanding clinical experiences and framework for clinical thinking and decision-making. The first two-years are held predominately on campus and the remaining two-years are held at clinical sites that are collaborative partners of LUCOM.

The LUCOM curriculum is designed to guide student-doctors to develop a holistic (body, mind, and spirit) osteopathic approach to medicine. Your LUCOM education is learner-focused, patient-centered, and outcomes-oriented.

The curriculum in the first two-years is an integrated, spiral curriculum featuring a variety of learning modalities and clinically oriented experiences. This phase of the training provides the opportunity for students to develop professional ethical standards and behaviors, as well as to learn the medical knowledge and skills required to graduate as a competent and effective osteopathic physician.

During your third-year, you are assigned to one of LUCOM’s core educational sites to ensure continuity, consistency, and coordination in your clinical education. In the fourth-year, you will receive continued advisement and guidance from LUCOM as you begin audition and away rotations.
