RCM was started by Prof. Charles Wambebe In 2007. He was given a vision to plant churches starting from villages in Uganda. Rock Church Ministries was launched at Kiyindi village, Uganda in April 2008. Today, Rock Church Ministries impacts communities in Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and South Africa. In addition, RCM supports medical missions/crusades, nursery school programs, prison ministry, a bible college and a year-round medical center. Prior to RCM, he served as Professor of Pharmacology at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and Georgetown University, Washington DC. He was the Pioneer Chairman of Council and Pro-Chancellor of Bingham University, Nigeria. Furthermore, he worked with the World Health Organization and served as Consultant to UNIDO, UNDP African Union, etc. Prof. Wambebe is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, The World Academy of Sciences, etc. He has also won 2 TWAS Prizes in Medical Sciences and Building of Scientific Institutions in Africa.
