Partner Organization

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Through a variety of medical ministries, Samaritan’s Purse equips and supports Christian healthcare professionals, responds to disasters, and provides specialized care to people who otherwise would not have access to life-saving treatment.

World Medical Mission strengthens mission hospitals by sending Christian healthcare professionals to serve where skilled medical care is needed most. It places Christian physicians, dentists, and other medical professionals on short-term volunteer service assignments to help fill staffing gaps at remote mission hospitals and clinics. The Post-Residency Program places Christian physicians and dentists alongside career medical missionaries at a mission hospital for two years of specialty-specific service.

When catastrophe strikes, Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Assistance Response Teams (DARTs) deploy to meet urgent physical needs while serving communities in Jesus’ Name. Teams provide emergency assistance—including access to water, food, shelter material, and medical care—in the wake of a disaster. When local medical infrastructure has been damaged or has exceeded capacity, a DART of medical professionals and other response specialists may be mobilized to set up and operate an Emergency Field Hospital to meet critical medical needs.

Children’s Heart Project gives children with congenital heart defects access to life-saving pediatric heart surgery that is unavailable in their home countries. Samaritan’s Purse conducts screenings to identify candidates and coordinates the surgeries at partner hospitals at no cost to the children’s families. In addition to making international transportation arrangements for the child, a parent or guardian, and an interpreter, Samaritan’s Purse secures lodging with a family who is part of a local host church.

Samaritan’s Purse also mobilizes volunteer medical professionals through surgical and community outreach ministries. Teams of surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals perform cataract and cleft lip and palate surgeries for patients of all ages who do not have access to this type of medical care in such places as South Sudan and Liberia. Medical professionals can volunteer at Community Medical Outreach weekend clinics hosted by local churches in the U.S. to provide free basic health, dental, and vision care to the underserved.
