The US spends more money than other countries on healthcare with worse outcomes.  Per the CDC, approximately 76% people have at least one chronic condition, 20% have a mental health issue, and nearly 50 million people struggle with a substance abuse disorder.  An increasing number of people in the US are sick and looking for the hope and healing that only Jesus can offer.  By some estimates, approximately 90% of physical issues are caused by unresolved emotional and spiritual issues. With this being the case, the US is one of the most significant mission fields in the world.  Healthcare workers are on the front lines of connecting with patients, their stories, their needs and Jesus. This is opening up tremendous opportunities to share the gospel.  Unfortunately, in too many US healthcare environments, the sharing of Christ in the patient care process is not welcomed.
